"An impressive and important book on 'our' story and 'their' story, which moves between Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Ramallah, and succeeds in penetrating the details of the conflict, its roots and its hopelessness, and which tries courageously - in a way that is bound to infuriate many - to enter the consciousness of someone who is considered by 'us' to be Satan: the suicide bomber.
Gavron does all this convincingly, and manages to place a mirror, not very flattering but full of compassion and moments of grace, in front of the shaken and distorted reality we live in."
Tel Aviv Magazine

"This montage of two parallel yet starkly different lives is gripping right from the very first page... An exciting novel full of devastating conflicts and touching, moving moments. A must-read."

"Gavron writes literature of the highest quality... his stories are read breathlessly. They are full of sexual and social tensions waiting to explode, riddles demanding deciphering, and compressed truths waiting to wane… He is hardly ever off-key, not even when he describes violence or wild sex scenes, not even when he allows himself, rarely, to become poetic… finally we can enjoy inventive Hebrew fiction." Yedioth Achronot
